I liked Shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat quite a lot more then Clear Sky. Mostly because Call of Pripyat is the proper sequel, when Clear Sky was a prequel to Shadow of Chernobyl - which was quite awkward in the end where they had to shoehorn everything that happened in the game into naught short of two npcs and one expensive set of armor, with rest of the game playing out like a rail shooter.

What I'm trying to say is, Buy Call of Pripyat instead.

I will say that Clear Skies is probably the more expansive game to be honest with you in terms of side missions and things you can do. The ending is the one thing that felt the most hurried part of the game and doesn't play out very well but it at least makes a little sense I guess. Shadow of Chernobyl is just a really nice flowing game, it's stable, got a good selection of weapons, and is easily the most moddable game in the series. Call of Pripyat took the Fallout 3 stance with the way its main missions tie together and how it all ends in the game, and the RPG element is very prominent compared to the others which just felt like you were playing a free-form FPS and can go and do just about anything anywhere. But it's still a solid game. If anything they should have mixed Call of Pripyat's modding system (By far the best in the series), with Clear Sky's platform and Shadow of Chernobyl's stability and expansive feel (Hopefully S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will be just that if they deliver like they say they will), it would be a perfect addition and a good 'final,' game to the series if there ever was to be one.

I just hope that before they kill S.T.A.L.K.E.R. off with a final game, that they make sure that the last one is an MMORPG possibly, Shadow of Chernobyl style graphics for stability of course. Then the Zone would live on forever and ever... And Fuck you WoW.

That shotgun looking sniper rifle (Vintorez) with silencer is the best. Nuff said Smile

I prefer the Avalanche over the VSS, you can extend the magazine cap and put optics on it the same way the VSS has, so it's somewhat of a more viable weapon for the Zone in my opinion. VSS was what I used for taking down groups of bandits at a medium to long range.

Then I got the SVD and it was all over.

Actually S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is back in production, after the holidays the team came back together and openly said on their official Facebook page they will resume working on it here shortly. Smile

by far the best news I have ever heard! I was so sad when I heard they shut down.

I am new to the series but been playing for a year. I started with Call of Pripyat. So far I have been all over Zaton and Jupiter but not yet to Pripyat!
